Saturday Afternoons — Feb 22 - Mar 28
Adult Beginner/Intermediate - 12:30-1:30pm
Did you ride a skateboard as a kid and want to get back into it?
Do you want to learn alongside your child, and help them out?
Ever wanted to skate but didn't know where to begin?
Feb 22 - Mar 28, 2020
Our small group adult lessons are focused on safety, fun, and inclusion. Safety also includes emotional wellbeing—we are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment that is supportive and judgement-free. We welcome all people, regardless of ability, sexuality, gender expression, or politics—we just ask that you are respectful to those around you.
Learning to skateboard can help you and your child form a greater bond by working toward a common goal, and overcoming challenges as a team. However, these lessons are not only for people with children. Many adults are interested in trying a non-traditional activity, but have not had the opportunity to do so. Although skateboarding is an individual pursuit on the surface, community and camaraderie play a significant role in helping us progress, which is why it's so much more effective (and fun) to learn together!
"By far the best part of skating is learning with my daughter. We cheer each other on and push each other to go farther but mostly we just have a lot of fun!" – Adult lesson participant
Everyone will be coming into the lesson with a different degree of skill. Even if you're a complete beginner, we encourage you to try it out! Skateboarding is a skill that is best learned in the company of a friendly, encouraging peer group, and Impact is the perfect place to get the support you need!
