Because of generous donations, we offer additional programs in select areas, free of cost to participants and families. Contact us if you would like a program in your neighbourhood!
4301 Kingston Rd.
Our 8-week program in the Kingston-Galloway area was the first of its kind to serve this community. The specialized program helped kids between 6-12 years to learn how to skateboard and how to deal with the challenges that come along with it.
Social skills and confidence can grow rapidly in the right environment. These are kids who normally wouldn't have access to this type of programming, but by bringing it to them our goal is to educate, empower, and inspire them to work together, be active, and have fun!
On April 22 and May 6, 2018, Impact hosted free workshops for Hijabi Ballers, a Toronto project which seeks to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of hijab-wearing athletes and increase representation by encouraging the participation of Muslim girls and women in sports.
Over March Break 2018 we had the pleasure of meeting the kids of Frontlines Toronto, and hosting a skateboard workshop for them at York Humber High School. Most of the 16 kids were beginners and came out of the lesson with new skills, confidence, and big smiles on their faces!
Community Impact: Kennedy House
On March 24, 2018 we collected personal care supplies for our friends at Kennedy House Youth Shelter. The event featured an open dialogue with a guest speaker, giveaways, food & drinks, music, and of course, a skate session! Through open and honest discussion, we gained a deeper perspective and sense of empathy. A big thank-you goes out to our speaker, Michelle Cutts!
