We are looking for enthusiastic youth between the ages of 14-20 to join us this summer at Impact Skate Camp!
More than just volunteers, we are looking for mentors. This is an opportunity to positively affect kids' lives by supporting and empowering them to be their best.
Helping our participants have a fun, safe camp experience will also help you better understand how to build trusting relationships rooted in honesty, empathy, and kindness.
The camp will travel to different skate parks 2-3 times per week, and include group lessons, games, swimming, contests, ramp-building, a video project, and other fun, random activities.
You will be expected to arrive at the skate park by 9am and head out when camp ends, at 4pm. Some campers stay for extended care until 5—you're welcome to stick around if you'd like.
Some of the responsibilities will include:
Help with skateboard instruction
Support the instructors with lessons, games, and activities
Help supervise on TTC trips
Help supervise at the swimming pool
Be patient, kind, and encouraging of ALL kids
Arrive on time, and let staff know if you'll be absent/late
What You Get
Volunteers will gain valuable skills and experience in program planning, team leadership, conflict resolution, and much more. On top of earning high school volunteer hours, your work with us can also be cited on your resume, and used as a reference for extra-curricular programs, college/university, and job applications.
Selected applicants will be required to attend a short training session before the start of camps.
